Creating A Profile

What is a profile?

This is your professional page which contains important information such as contact phone/email, photo (we recommend passport type size and quality), education and work history, medical specialty boards, licensure and certifications, and any other documents which a potential employer and credentialing committee may need. For photos, we recommend passport type size (2×2 inch) and quality (300 dpi).

How do I create a profile?

Simply enter your National Provider Identifier (NPI) and much of the user profile will Auto-populate. If you do not have an NPI or can’t remember it, you can enter your user profile information manually.

How do I upload my resume or CV?

Just follow the screen prompts to upload, then our OCR (optical character recognition) software in most cases will auto-populate most of the remaining profile fields. However, these areas can also be input or changed manually.

How do I upload my important licenses and other documents?

Just follow the screen prompts. While there are many “Tiles” with pre-populated labels such as Medical License document, Medical School Diploma, Residency Diploma, Board Certification Certificates, Basic Life Support card, You should customize as many as you need to make your profile complete. Rocket Locums will review your profile to ensure that important documents such as medical license, board certifications, NPDB self-query report are uploaded prior to “Qualifying and Authorizing” you to participate in using the platform. Remember- the more complete and up to date your personal profile is, the more likely you will be matched to your ideal job. Hint- if you enter an expiration date for your uploaded documents, you will receive a reminder before the expiration date in order to reduce the risk of a lapsed certification.

What happens if I do not apply for some "fillable/selectable fields" during my profile creation?

Simply leave them blank and our staff will review your documents. We will contact you if clarification is needed.

What if I have my own medical malpractice insurance?

Select the “ I have my own medical malpractice insurance “ field when asked, then upload a copy of the policy face sheet under your important document “Tiles” . Be sure to include the start/end dates of your policy.

Rocket Locums uses “A-(excellent) rated” ProAssurance Insurance Company for Med-Mal coverage. So, you are in good hands.

How many "job" types can I select?

You should only choose the job types you would be interested in working. For example, if you are a gastroenterologist, even though you may be certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, do not choose “internal medicine” unless you would like to work at that unique specialty, such as in an internal medicine clinic.

However, if you are certified in critical care medicine and sleep medicine, choose both job types if you are willing to consider accepting a job post for either specialty.Once you select the “Job” types you are interested in, it is important to upload your supporting documents for Rocket Locums review. The quicker we receive your documents, the sooner we can “Approve” you for the selected job types!

What if my specialty is not showing up as a job type choice to select?

Please let us know by emailing Support@RocketLocums.com. We will do our best to keep our job list updated.

Getting Matched With Jobs

How long can a job assignment last?

Facilities may hire for short term placement (typically less than 3 weeks), long term projects more than 3 weeks with recurring schedules, or even offering flexibility with the provider candidate even selecting their own schedule.

How will I get "matched" with a potential employer?

There are 3 ways which facility/employer can choose to post a job for candidate matching. The first is to allow the Rocket Locums platform to “match” the ideal candidate and client based on proprietary algorithm then present that candidate to the client, second a client may choose to review the profiles of potential candidates then make their selection, and finally the client may choose to directly message their “preferred” candidate who may have already provided services for them in the past.

How do candidates "Ratings" affect the likelihood of getting job offers?

When a candidate works for a client facility, the client may provide a rating based on “star rating.” A 5-star is the highest rating and a 1-star is lowest. Having a higher Star rating may translate to more success in matching with jobs or being selected by a client.

Working And Getting Paid

Why do I need to connect my bank to my account/profile?

All workers at Rocket Locums are paid via secure electronic bank transfer (ACH) via the platform. Once your timesheet is verified by the employer, funds can be directly deposited into your bank account. This process allows you to be paid more efficiently and in most cases sooner than paper paychecks. Rocket Locums uses Plaid to connect employer and employee bank accounts and Stripe to facilitate our payment platform. Remember, you will have a small transaction fee deducted from your payment amount to cover the ACH transfer fee (Stripe transaction fees)

Do I have to use the electronic bank transfer?

Our platform is meant to be efficient, secure, and easy to use which is why we utilize secure ACH payments only.

How do I complete my timesheet?

Once you have agreed on working a shift, you will be sent a digital “reminder” to check in/out at the job. Depending on the employer, you may need to check in/out “in-person” with a specific individual at the job who will be able to verify your presence. The digital timesheets are very specific, that is time is calculated incrementally every 15 minutes (quarter hour).

So, if you need to adjust your “hours worked” on the digital calendar from 12.5 to 12.0 due to being early/late with your check in/out, just edit the total hours as soon as possible after the shift. This will ensure an accurate paycheck and avoid disputes.

Is there a "record" of all the paychecks I receive?

Yes – on the user dashboard, select “Payments” and from there you can choose to view payment history, accounting information, or complete bank connections.

How can I "negotiate" the rate of pay?

Remember, Rocket Locums has no input regarding pay rate negotiations between client and candidate. Through the platform you are free to message the client to negotiate your rate. Moreover potential candidates for a job post have the ability to “reject” a job offer and include the reason as feedback (such as pay rate, distance to job site, etc…). Thus, clients may choose independently to increase their rate of pay offer on a particular job depending on circumstances such as insufficient candidate replies, short notice, holidays, etc…

Will I be recognized or rewarded for referring others to Rocket Locums?

You Bet! Candidates on our platform can share a link to a job post with their colleagues. If that referral converts to a shift worked, you will be eligible to receive a referral bonus. Moreover, we’ll track all your referrals under the “referral program” tab on your profile page.

Will "taxes" be deducted from my paycheck?

No. All candidate workers through Rocket Locums platform are considered independent contractors and will be required to complete IRS form W-9 and upload to your documents in your personal profile page.

Posting A Job Order

How do I post a (new) job order?

Easy! From your Dashboard page, simply click “Post New Order”. Next, select the category (physician, APP, Nursing, or Allied Health Professional) and then the specific job type. You can make your post personal by “Giving it a Title” such as Nurse Anesthetist for busy outpatient surgery center. In fact, Rocket Locums remembers your previous job posts so with a single click you can repost a past job! You will then be prompted to answer a few questions about the job description, location, schedule, hiring preference, who they should check in with once they arrive (if any), and budget.

How are job post schedules categorized?

You can categorize your post as “Short Term”- single shift or those typically lasting less than 3 weeks, “Long Term”- long term needs with recurring dates and times, or even let the job candidate specify what dates and times they can work between a set of dates and maximum hours “No Fix Schedule”.

How do candidates get "Matched" with jobs?

You have 3 choices. You can choose to let Rocket Locums platform match the best candidate to your preferences then we will link you with them. Alternatively you can review the profiles of those candidates who apply for the post then choose who you want to hire. You can even reach out only to your “preferred list” of candidates to see if they are available for the job first.

Will I need to include the pay rate in my job post?

You bet! That’s what sets Rocket Locums apart from the others. We believe in transparency and that includes what the candidate will be paid. Remember your “Budget” for the job post should take into consideration the Rocket Locums transaction fee (subject to change- for the current fee % rate see our Terms of Service). That is, the posted Pay Rate which candidates see will be LESS the amount of any transaction fees.

How will I know if the candidate is able to do the work agreed on?

Although Rocket Locums will collect most of the documents required for candidate credentialing in an easy to download bundle, we DO NOT perform credentialing services. Credentialing of the candidate including any background checks will need to be done by the hiring facility.

How do candidates get "Matched" with jobs?

Alternatively you can review the profiles of those candidates who apply for the post then choose who you want to hire. You can even reach out only to your “preferred list” of candidates to see if they are available for the job first before posting the job live.

Paying A Candidate

How do I pay the candidate for their work?

Your facility MUST connect a payment method (credit card or ACH direct bank to bank link via Plaid) on the Rocket Locum platform prior to a job candidate working a shift.

All candidates will complete their e-timesheet for the work order and submit it directly to you for review and “Approval”. There is a tab for “Hours Approval” on your dashboard page. There are options to Dispute, Reject, or Approve the timesheet. Once “Approved” the job invoice will show up under your “Payments” tab as pending and from there, the candidate can be directly paid electronically.

Should I "rate" a candidate who worked a job for me?

Yes. Candidates should be acknowledged for a job well done, or in some cases, not so well done. Please provide a “Gold Star” rating for the candidates after they have worked a shift or two for you.

How much time do I have to pay the candidate?

Rocket Locums requires ALL APPROVED HOURS WORKED TO BE REMITTED TO CANDIDATE WITHIN 14 DAYS OF THEM SUBMITTING THEIR TIMESHEET (see Rocket Locums Terms of Service Agreement)

What if I have a Dispute or want to Reject the timesheet hours submitted by a candidate for a job worked?

Please message the candidate to let them know you are questioning the timesheet they submitted. There may be an honest oversight and a quick correction of the timesheet may be all it takes! Disputes should be handled between the independent contractor and the client. Rocket Locums is not responsible for arbitration of disputes (see Rocket Locums Terms of Service Agreement).
